The birth control pill, when taken 100% correctly, is almost 100% effective. Although there is always a slim chance of pregnancy, (We all know people who get pregnant while on the pill!) you should be OK. Just make sure you take the pill at the same time every day and don't take other medications that could interfere. (I've read that grapefruit juice can alter the pill's effectiveness as well.) The fact that you're so close to your period makes pregnancy even less likely, since ovulation in a normal cycle usually happens about a week and a half before menstruation.

LOL

no, try that is most likely your fertile time!

there is no safe time though. I got pregnant on my period. Any little thing can throw your cycle off, and make you release an egg early or late. Plus, sperm can live for 3-5 days inside you, so even if there is no egg present when you have sex, if you ovulate within a few days, you can become pregnant by the sperm that is still present in your body.

Good luck! If you and your partner dont want a baby yet, then find other ways to have fun. Every single person I know who has a child, conceived them while using some form of birth control. Including me

There is absolutely no safe sex if you aren't using any type of birth control.

There are many reason:

- You body doesn't always run on schedule. You can ovulate at ANY time (which means you will get pregnant if you have unprotected sex)
- Sperm can live inside of you for 3-5 days
- You ovulate for 2-3 days

You are never 100% safe having unprotected sex. Counting the days and not using protection is a great way to get pregnant.

People who count days to not get pregnant are called PARENTS. I have a friend who got pregnant on day four of her cycle, which everyone swears is supposed to be safe. Sperm can last five days inside a woman, and if the woman's body senses sperm, it will push up the release of the egg. So, USE CONDOMS! Don't be stupid.

welll....you risk getting pregnant ANYTIME you have unprotected sex. logistically there are better times of the month than others, but please if you are to have sex and don't want to get pregnant...use a form of birth control! the rythem method....as well as many others are far from fool proof!

i just wanted to add to all who have, or known someone who has become pregnant while menstrating....yes, people say it's darn near impossible to get preganant then. BUT my mom got preganant with ME when she was menstrating AND breastfeeding! people SAY that NEVER happens! it;s called ALWAYS use protection unless you are up for suprises :)
