Robert Parish, the center on the Boston Celtics for much of the 80s was really ugly. Mostly because he wanted to be. I don't ever remember seeing the man smile. It's like every time I looked at him on t.v. he had a scowl on his face. That being said, he was a very good versatile center.
Dennis Rodman was even uglier. He REALLY went out of his way to be ugly. He loved being ugly. It was great for psychological warfare. Every time an opponent looked at him, they couldn't help but remember that the man dressed in drag.

To the person who said that all basketball players are tall, ugly freaks: Most NBA poinguards are shorter than 6'2". The average height is 6'4" so not all of them are like 7'.
