Which is it more important to have an Internet Connection Firewall enabled for: a dial-up interface or a high-speed interface?

It's more important for a high-speed connection because you're always connected, but in reality you should have a firewall for any connection to the internet with all the trojans and viruses waiting to come aboard.

While a firewall is best in both cases, certainly it is more important for a high-speed connection as those tend to be 'always on', meaning your computer is vulnerable to attack any time, whether you are actively using the computer or not. I personally prefer router-based firewalls (runs inside the network router itself) rather than the firewall Windows provides.

I have written a couple articles that might help: http://www.mikebryant.com/homenetworking.html and http://www.mikebryant.com/SpywareAdwareandMalware.html

High speed but both need a firewall.

Enable for ANY internet connection, and even then you are not completely safe.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SECURE INTERNET CONNECTION!!
