okay, since about 5 hours ago ive been getting this big cramp on and off pretty regularly probably about 15 minutes or so apart. they dont hurt that bad, its more like a period cramp that travels from just under my belly above my pubic bone all around to my lower back. they last about 30-45 seconds long and i was just wondering if this could possibly be labour. even when i lay down they still come the same. it doesnt hurt like alot of people say contractions do. i was just wondering if anyone would know what this could be? hopefully labour im due tomorrow.

thank you

Congrats!!!!!
Real labor pains are different for every woman and even with each pregnancy; however, many describe them as being a dull ache in the lower abdomen and back with pelvic pressure, or like strong menstrual or diarrhea cramps.

Many doctors and midwives believe that Braxton Hicks may help tone your uterine muscles and promote blood flow to the placenta. And although true Braxton Hicks do not have any effect on your cervix, false labor (when they occur closer to actual delivery) can actually help your cervix dilate and efface.

Certain things can trigger Braxton Hicks, such as physical activity, touching your belly, movement of the baby, having sex, dehydration, or having a full bladder. If you are experiencing a lot of contractions, try changing positions or lying down on your left side, walking, and drinking water. If the contractions persist, call your doctor.

So how do you know when they’re just Braxton Hicks and when it’s time to head to the hospital?

Braxton Hicks:

are irregular in intensity
are irregular in pattern
are infrequent
do not increase in intensity or frequency
are more uncomfortable than painful
disappear if you change positions or activity level, or drink water

Real labor pains:

increase in intensity and frequency
have a pattern to them
do not lessen or disappear if you walk, drink water, or rest
are painful
Call your doctor if your contractions progress in intensity, frequency, and regularity or if you have other signs of labor such as abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, increased pelvic pressure, or low back pain.

No. Scotland isn't mandatory to Labour's opportunities, incredibly now that the Tories and Lib Dems are drastically weakened through continued crapness of the coalition government. Labour isn't as reliable in Scotland because it was once besides. right this is how I see the subsequent 20 years panning out: Scotland votes against independence. Labour kicks Ed Miliband and elects a touch greater credible chief. Labour wins the 2015 election by a landslide. Tories and Lib Dems fracture into smaller events through infighting - Tory and Lib Dem votes at the instant are chop up between those small events to boot as different small ones like UKIP. Labour keeps to win the subsequent 2-3 elections, whilst the smaller events p.c.. up some ordinary seats right here and there. the challenge that the not-Labour events have, is that there is a extensive portion of the inhabitants of this usa which will continually, continually vote Labour no count what. it incredibly is through fact, traditionally, working classification human beings have for hundreds of years been f*cked over by toffs on the precise, for this reason maximum suitable to the formation of the Labour stream in the 1st place, and the try for one guy or woman one vote. not something that Tory toff types have finished in the intervening era has altered that - they're nonetheless the pleb-hating, little England NIMBies that they continually have been. Laughably this extreme snobbery and sophistication hatred even extends to their very own supporters, for this reason the "swivel eyed loon" controversy.

It could be labour.... the contractions do not hurt as much at the start..... they should get closer and stronger. Call the birthing center at the hospital where you are giving birth (if you are going to the hospital) and ask them at what point you should go in. I am sure they will tell you to come in if: your water breaks, your mucus plug falls out, your contractions are very regular and getting stronger. Do not wait until they are so close that you can't get to the hospital!

Good luck!

Contractions feel like period cramps. If they are regular and don't get better when you lay down it is labor. Keep timing your pains and call your doctor when they get a little closer together. I should add, that they start out not so bad, but they do get worse! Good luck to you and congratulations!

sounds like very early labor. Ignore it! Contractions that you can not ignore---meaning you can't walk or talk through them--is what you want to time. When they are about five to seven minutes apart, call your care provider.

An active labor contraction involves your entire body. Every part of you is working to get your baby born. Those are the contractions that you want to pay attention to... in fact you'll have to...because there wil be no doubt in your mind that you are definately having your baby soon.

If you pay attention to the "cramp stuff", you'll go to the hospital early and you might not be admitted...either that or you'll get started on pitocin drip (trust me---no fun!) to speed things up. So stay at home as long as you can, rest relax, eat what you want, drink lots of water and enjoy your last few hours of pregnancy.

Yup... that's labor. The reason it doesn't "hurt like people say contractions do" is because you're in the beginning stages. You don't necessarily need to go in right now but you do need to call your ObGyn and the hospital to let them know you may be headed there.

And don't worry... the contractions will definitely get worse ;-)

Oh yes..if you are due tomorrow, it sounds like labor. They don't hurt NOW, but the more you have them the more intense they become. Make sure that you keep track of the time frame that they come and go and yes, I do believe that it may be time to call your doctor, to see what he/she says. GOOD LUCK!!

this can be the start of labor for you! my contractions don't really hurt untill transition.....i learned that the hard way because i have had 3 preterm deliveries!! BUT right now they are too far apart to do anything. they will build in intensity and get closer together before you get THAT excited ;) good luck, and hopefuly it'll be your time soon!

You are having contractions and the first ones don't really hurt just wait they'll come harder and more painful, if they come every 5 minutes get to the hospital.
