just want to know how to fix this or where to find a better version of the rom

During the bootup process you have to press ok you may read that it states:
"THEIR ARE KNOWN PROBLEMSWITH THIS GAME"
"THE VIDEO EMULATION IS NOT 100%"
"TYPE OK OR MOVE JOYSTICK LEFT THEN RIGHT TO CONTINUE"
If your rom loads and is able to play at all you can try tweeking some of the options, use an older version of MAME that still supports the game rom, Add more RAM.

Try an older version of MAME.
Most of the time the newer version of MAME doesnt support the older roms like the previous versions did.
Also make sure you have enough memory to run the game since MAME takes a lot of memory running.
