I'm trying to write a story but I don't have any ideas. I'm not trying to publish a story I'd just like to write it for my own satisfaction. If you don't mind your idea being used, please tell me.

Writing will always be better if it is about something that personally touched you. Observe the people and events arond you. It can be something small. Maybe you see a girl reading a letter on the subway and suddenly her face breaks into a grin. What did the letter say? Who is she? Where is she on her way to? Write a story about your impressions of that moment. Or just talk about something you saw, like watching a homeless cat skulk through the rain, and see what it made you think about or how it made you feel. Nobody can really give you ideas that will turn out as well, or as true, as ones that come from your own life.

Here are a few things I done..sounds like you need the first one.
New Plan Is Due
by

A new plan is what we need when the old one seems wore out.
So here it is, but just a stencil
That we can add anything God wishes us to add.

I plan on starting each day with
"Hello God, take the wheel as I start out my day
Drive me in the direction I need to go".
I may not spend hours each day on my knees,
But when I need to I know He will be there beside me listening

Riding the Breeze of Time
By

Life is sprinkled with long rows
Filled with cliffhangers and valleys
Rocky roads and bitter winds
Which bring raging storms inside.
When you feel all you worked for is falling apart.
Pick up the good and ride the breeze of time.
It brushes across your footprints,
To make new fresh ground.
To plant new seed.

Out of the darkest hour,
Sprouts new life.
Just clearing my mind with this one

Belief
By

Belief is a strong word.
How you prefer to use it is the key
That turns your life.
Belief in God is great and is a true belief.
It give you hope for a better tomorrow.
It gives you strength for a brighter day
It puts joy in your heart,
And will ease your troubled thoughts.
Belief the world owes you!
That doesn't give you a voice be heard.
It isn't an insignia to wear on your chest,
As you amble down your road of existence.
Nor are your beliefs set in stone.
It is just a word, not a way of life.
Your life may be sprinkled with cliffs and valleys,
Or raging storms inside.
That is not a reason to destroy everything in your path.
It is a reason to be good.
When you were born your life was not yet your own.
Controlled by what your parents said and did,
For you or to you.
Remember that feeling of uncontrolled actions.
Forget the forceful times.
Belief in ones self is the greatest belief of all.
Believe you can be a better person.
Prove you are a better person by your actions.
Believe you can trust others.
And you will gain their respect.
Believe others when they say you can do it.
And act on those beliefs.
Keep believing things will get better.
And if they do not!! Drop the dead beat dreams.
The only way to forget is to accept
And the only way to move on is,
Let those footprints stay in the past.
Give your sorrows to the winds of time.
Let your life be an oak tree,
So plant your acorn today.
When you feel all is falling apart
Pick up the good and leave the bad.
Let the breeze of time propel your troubles away,
as it brushes the footprints from your mind.
Out of the darkest hour, new life sprouts.
Just keep on riding the winds of time

I've found that the best stories I write, come from my personal experiences. What do you think about most, or enjoy the most, or dislike the most? If you can find a topic that you're passionate about, you'd be surprised how easily you can formulate a story. Every writer I know agrees with the statement, "Write what you know." Using your own perspective is invaluable, and it is what will make your story unique. And have fun with it!

Fictionalize the best moment in your life thus far. Or fictionalize the the worst.

The best writing you can do is writing about what you know. Your own experiences, good or bad. Places you been, interesting or even scary people you've met.

Start off with a serendipitous meeting on Yahoo answers and follow the tale wherever it and your imagination take you.

Cheerios.

Hmm..letsee....why don`t you write about a kind of book you like best...for example, why don`t you write a romantic story, or maybe a suspense story..or even a mystery! Just use your imagination wander, and you`ll come up with ideas that you`ll never thought you`ll ever think of! I bet you`ll be holding that pen or pencil and writing furiously now.
