Let him fly a plane or drive a race car for a day, they have it here http://www.giftweblog.com/2006/10/07/experience-the-ultimate-gift/

you are still in your honeymoon phase. If he wants to give the gifts let him give them. But you can schedule yourself around when he comes home from work and you can spend the day getting pampered and then go and get some strawberries and dip them in chocolate and light candles and by some lingere and get your hair and nails done and buy some perfume that he has never smelled before. If you can get some champagne or some sparkling wine (they sell it at walmart) its good. or some chardonnay and pour up two flutes and run you a bath light your candles and when he comes to the door you can just get out the tub and greet him in your valentine suit or you can give him a massage and buy some really relaxing oil and music and turn down the lights and have a good time. Or you can do whatever you like. But valentines day is a day that is full of romance and you should not think of it as a corny day because what if he did nothing for you at all. I bet you would not think so. And the only reason that he says not to do anything for him is because he is aware of how you think of valentines day. Be spontaneous and do something that he would not think that you would do. Even if that means writing him a letter and putting it in his brief case or calling him or sending him flowers at work it is just the thought that counts. But to be honest men really dont care too much for material gifts they care about sex so you can spice up your night and just surprise him. He'll never forget it. Good luck and God Bless. You have a week to plan so have at it!!!

Have him take the day off work, send the kids out the door for school or to a sitter. Wake him up by giving him some "extra" special attention, if ya know what I mean. Then serve him breakfast in bed then a nice warm full body massage after he has a full belly. Then spend the rest of the day & evening showing your love for him and you will be rewarded with a happy husband and a happy husband equals a happy wife which makes life happy. Have fun!!

Make him a nice coupon book with coupons like:

massage from you
get out of helping with dishes
watch a football game (or whatever he likes) without any interruptions
get out of a day shopping at the mall
sex in any position he wants

Stuff like that.
Maybe a cute pair of silk boxers.
