I completely agree with you. Bure was one of the most exciting players ever, and he had the potential to be even better than we saw, damn those week knees of his! He's working for the Russian Olympic team now and is (reportedly) heavily involved with the Russian Mafia. He's disowned his parents and taken Anzor Kikalishvili, the leader of the "21st Century Association" (mafia) as his "spiritual father" He's no longer has any direct involvement with hockey and has instead turned his attention to supporting the political career of Anzor Kikalishvili. If you liked Bure, you may want to keep a close eye on Maxim Afinogenov of the Buffalo Sabre's. He moves in such a way that you swear it was Pavel out there.

Plagued by injuries throughout his career, he did not play in the 2003-04 NHL season due to a lingering knee injury even after two operations. On November 1, 2005, Bure announced his retirement from professional hockey due to complications with his injured knee (injury sustained in 2003).[1] At the same time, it was announced that Bure would be the general manager of Russia's ice hockey team at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

The "Russian Rocket" IS one of the all-time greats. But what about his brother Valeri? He wasn't quite as outstanding as Pavel but he just sort of disappeared from hockey too.

He failed a team physical in (I think) 2003, because of his bad knees. I'm not sure he ever officially retired, but if you can't pass the physical, you can't play.

I think he is spending most of his time trying to get Anna Kournikova back. Either that or the knees.
