Actually you don't need the boiling point information. In organic chemistry, there is only one compound that has the empiric formula given. That is unless you wish to violate all sorts of rules.

CH2OH-CH2OH

Carbon needs 4 bounds each
Oxygen needs 2 bonds each
Hydrogen needs one bond each.
