You want the baby to be face down. When they are face up, you have back labor because it is spine against spine. The chances of a section are higher with face up. So face down is good! My first daughter was face up, I spent 28 hours in labor and had back labor the whole time (so not fun!) was dilated to 9, but because she was facing up, she couldn't drop enough, ended up having a c-section.
Good luck to you!

The baby is supposed to come out face down, but they can turn it externally and attempt to turn the baby internally, and it generally works. If the baby is face up, you will experience back labor because of the way the baby's head is putting pressure on your pelvis.

Actually, you want your baby to come face down... if they are face up- sunny side up they call it, it makes it VERY hard on you- this was how my son was... and he just wasn't descending. Now part of the problem why I couldn't deliver natural too was because my son was 9lbs 10oz- they had no idea he was that big! anyways, I ended up c-section after 19hrs of labor and almost fully dilated.... it was very rough because my epidural stopped working the last 4 hrs, and the spinal didn't take for the c-section so I had to be put under.
So I believe you will be just fine!!!! :) Good luck and congrats!!!!

They're actually supposed to be face down, so stop worrying! It's face up that's harder, and mostly on you, not the baby.
My son was face up, but he was also frank breech, with his arms and feet up over his head, so my dr. said that was too dangerous to deliver and I had a cesarean.
But your baby sounds right on track! Good luck and congratulations!

Your baby is supposed to come face down.
When baby comes out face up, that causes "back labor" for mom and can be more painful.

My understanding is that's the way most come out. Mine came out face up and they called her a star-gazer. It was tough, but with the anesthetic, it didn't hurt. Don't worry, talk to your doctor.
