I'm considering working for them full-time, and also, what is it really like working in public accounting?

I don't want just flowery "it's great for your career!" answers. Please give it to me straight!

I have already been hired to work as an accounting intern for them, and I was hoping to get the low-down.

good pay. don't expect 40 hours a week, that's for sure. family will get to used to eating dinner without you. most auditors are gone in less than 2 years because headhunter's love a cpa who has big four experience. maybe you'll find you like the work and you'll stick it out, then you can expect big pay and if you like a big part in recruiting, training, and potential partnership.

OK, it really sucks. It's such a big company that they don't know who you are. To them, you're just another charge code.

Go do it and then write your own testimonial.
First - someone has to hire you. :o)
