UK is officially the country, as in The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Great Britain is a geographical term for the land mass that is England, Scotland, and Wales.

England is a state of the UK to the south of Scotland and the east of Wales.

Used to be Great Britain from the Union till the 20th century.
Then became United Kingdom.
Now it is England as the others have virtual independence.
