I had my period starting the 19th, so I shouldn't be going through anything now. Well yesturday (I can't put this any other way, but I don't want to sound really gross) I started bleeding for about an hour and then it stopped. Today it happened again. I don't know if this is worth saying but I'm getting over a few flu symptoms. So I don't know, that might be useless, but I don't want to get myself worked up if something like this happens occassionaly. So my overall question is does anyone know what's wrong with me or have any advice? And is spotting between peridos normal? I must also mentioned that I had no choice but to use super tamponds even when I only needed a regular, if at all. So to any one . . . Help, please.

OK. Listen. Sometimes, honestly, this just happens.
Yes, of course, it can be a symptom of something going on. BUT.
Sometimes, this just happens, and actually it does matter that you are just getting over the flu because illness, like stress, can cause upsets in our cycles.
But, just once, for a few days, for maybe an hour or so -- especially coinciding with an illness, no big deal.

If you're over 35 it could be a sign of perimenopause. Spotting between periods is normal as a woman nears menopause due to fluctuating hormone levels. If you're younger than that maybe it is from the flu upsetting your biological clock rythyms?Usually with menstrual bleeding there will be a 3 to 4 hour period of time ( I used to call it my heavy day) where the flow will be heavier. It should slow down by the next day.Our uteruses were designed to clean themselves and there are times when you can pass clots and more blood than usual. If a large amount of blood continues coming out tommorrow and you're soaking a pad or tampon in an hour then call your doctor. She or he can reassure you one way or another.Good luck.

Bleeding before your period can be a symptom of a problem. If its heavier than just spotting and you are also having pain with it.
See a doctor to rule out anything serious. Take a pregnancy test as well...as that is the first symptom of an ectopic pregnancy(tubal). Also ...use pads til you know whats going on...tampons can arent good if you have an infection or another problem.

Spotting usually means your pregnant. And if thats not possible...like say your not having sex, then i would wait a little longer to see if it gets back to normal.because everyone has different periods and everyone is different.Mine is all screwed up most of the time so its rare that I have a normal one.So don't scare yourself just yet.But if this proceeds I would go get checked out to see if everythings ok.But like i said before..if you are having sex..you should go get a pregnancy test..because thats what happens, you will spot for a short time and then you usually dont have another period..usually,but some girls do.GOOD LUCK!

You likely have a fibroid tumour (not cancerous). You need to get to a doctor and will likely have an ultrasound to confirm it. You need to get this checked out because it can lead to anemia (which I have).
I had flu like symptoms, headaches, and intermittent bleeding for 5 weeks and became anemic.

Its common to bleed heavily during the first 2 days.
If it persists longer, and you experience faint spells, supplement your diet with iron rich food. If you still don't feel good. See a doctor.

You may need to see you GYN to start on some sort of birthcontol so you can regulate your periods. If you are already on birthcontrol, then you should check with your OB/GYN and let her/him know what's going on so they can check you out. Also, make sure you get your yearly check-up/PAP, to be sure something serious isn't wrong. Good Luck!

i cant tell you what is wrong, but if your really concerned i would call a doctor and ask, or call the hospital and just ask them if you think its not right. But everyone is different and maybe it could be the tampons, my advice would be to use pads for a while i know it sucks but it may be better for you.

I have had illregular periods my whole life. You will need to make a judgement call by asking yourself is this normal for me. If not see a doctor.
