I have been orth evra (birth control patch) for about 3 or so years now and just recently i have been spotting during my second week on the patch. It happens usually the week before i switch to my last patch of that cycle. Why does this happen? What should i do?

One of the symptoms of being on the patch is spotting between periods. Just because you've not had this symptom before does not mean that it cannot occur for you. I was on ortho-evra for two years and was perfectly fine, until the level or hormones in the birth control started making me really sick at night and extremely depressed. Just talk to your doctor about switching birth controls.

If I remember correctly, there is spotting in betweens. Its suppose to be normal, but if it really bothers you, talk to your doctor or ask to switch to something else.
