Cut it with a sterilized knife, squeeze the pus out and then put some rubbing alcohol on it (it'll sting really bad, but will kill the germs), put on some drawing salve or Neosporin and a band-aid, it's going to hurt for a few days, keep it clean and covered. Also, if possible wait till the sun goes down before you lance it, it's an old wive's tale to keep the infection away, don't know if it's true or not, I've always waited till sundown and so far have never got an infection.

Forget the home remedies, and get it taken care of by a doctor. You do NOT want an infected hand! Go to the ER and let someone clean it, bandage it, and (possibly) prescribe antibiotics and/or pain killers.

Whatever you do...DON'T break it, even with something sterilized! The pressure that is causing the pain will gradually subside, and is nothing compared to the pain you'd feel if you did puncture the blister and it became infected. You may want to try over-the-counter burn cream, but the cheapest and quickest relief I have found personally is Desitin diaper cream. Sounds crazy, but it works!

If you aren't joking- ;) Warm compresses draw out puss. However, your best bet is to buy Epsom Salt, soak your finger in (following directions on the package). You can also start by piercing a small hole in the infected area with a sterile instrument prior to soaking. Use follow up soaking treatments per directions. Watch for redding of the infected area and it it worsens, I would suggest seeing your doctor. Epsom Salt can be purchased at any local drug store, Wal-Mart, etc.

It's probably not a boil, it's likely a blister, and that pus is needed for it to heal. Please leave it alone. If you must break it, sterilize a sharp object to puncture it, let it drain without applying direct pressure, and then dress heavily with neosporin and a bandage.

heat a sewing needle over a lighter, blow it out, let it cool for 10 seconds and stick it in the boil.
