You've asked this question multiple times, and I already answered it.

Hymens are there when you're little so that no infections or other nasty things can get in there and destroy your chances of being able to carry children later in life. They have a biological reason for being there. It's just a membrane over your hole to be blunt about it.

But by the time you've had your first period your hymen has started to thin out and there are already holes in your hymen. There's where your period blood comes out.

If you are a very active girl in terms of sports your hymen is usually even thinner and holey-er because of all the stretching and moving that your legs do that makes things down there move around and the hymen becomes more fragile.

Hymens are removed medically only if it is unusually thick, making it hard for it to break down on it's own and making it harder for menstrual blood to come out. Most women don't have very thick hymens. It's not usually painful to have it removed by a doctor, but it is not medically necessary and no good doctor would remove it unless you're actually having problems down there.

You should not have it done if you are not having any medical problems down there.

If all of this worry is because you've heard horror stories about having sex for the first time don't even worry about it. First of all, most people's first times are just a little painful or uncomfortable. Not the huge terrible blood-producing thing that some people make it out to be. Also, the older you get the thinner your hymen gets, so if you're really worried about it don't have sex at a really young age! Second of all, if you're that scared of your first time you're not ready to do it yet, whether your hymen is there or not. Fear is your body's way of telling you that you're not ready.

Your vagina is a very flexible place. It's meant to let things in for the purposes of sex, and to let babies out. It wouldn't be able to let babies out if it wasn't able to stretch, now would it? Well your hymen is flexible, too. And it has holes. And if you want to stretch it out there are very *ahem* pleasurable things you could do to yourself that I'm not allowed to talk about here. If you go slowly enough you'll maybe be a little sore every now and then but nothing major. You can successfully stretch out your own hymen. And you'll have the added benefit of knowing how your own body works and what turns you on so that you can communicate that to your partner when you're READY to become sexually active.

So stop stressing about the hymen, okay? :)

Yes it is possible. I've read of cases where the hymen was surgically punctured. Probably under a local anaesthetic rather than a general. Visit and talk with your gynecologist for more information.

Um, you don't have to have it surgically done. If you've ever ridden a bike it's probably already broken. It doesn't take that much for it to break.

Why do you want to do that. and why you keep asking this question over and over?
