I can't help but eat chocolate a few days before. Then there is the headache the day before and so on. The best is to exercise, if you're not into that, try to go for a long walk every day. Exercise regulates the hormones and seem to make PMS symptoms less severe, such as depression, bloating etc.. As for the cravings. I will prob. always have the chocolate. We deserve it, don't you think?

To be honest, I never tried to beat them (I'm past menopause now, so that's why I use the past tense); instead, I tried to "feed" them, and found that I tended to eat a lot less if I did! Oddly enough, when I ate whatever it was that I craved, I literally NEVER gained weight - it was as though my body needed SOMETHING that was in whatever I was craving. That doesn't mean to really pig out on something - but a reasonable amount of whatever you're craving may be just the thing to STOP the craving.

Painkillers (midol, advil, etc.), whatever you are craving (hey, you feel horrible, you can at least do something to make yourself feel better), watch a favorite movie or do something else that relaxes you, exercise (it has been proven to help with the cramps), and use a heating pad. If you can't sit around the house with one on, those that stick to the inside of your clothes work wonders.

do you experience dysmenorrhea? i think it would be better if yo lessen the amount of carbs a aweek before menstruating. it should help lessen the pain. i suggest you also avoid drinking lots of caffeine, colas, or just eat alitllte chocolate. if you feel weakness on your thigh when you menstruate, eat bananas. about two or three

Unfortunately I give in to the craving...
But miraculously, the craving instantly ceases once I start. (You know...)
