We don't stock enough chemicals and trans-fats at home!

Well, I work in fast food (Whataburger in Texas) and its the fact that the customers don't want to cook all the time and feel good about eating burgers, chicken, hotdogs, fries, milkshakes, and ice cream. Home cooking can be so good but there's times when you don't want to cook and just have a big, fat greasy burger and fries. It makes them feel good, its like a comfort. The fact that its so fattening and yet so tasty and delicious, they can't get enough of it! I worked Thanksgiving a couple of years ago and there was people here and there stopping by but this lady told me that a burger made her feel good, and that she was tired of turkey. Fast food is like an addicting drug, once you have it; you always have to have it here and there, its sugar high, makes you feel warm and fuzzy, a true comfort. Once you have good one and favorite, you always come back for more. The other fact is that its there and they can just pick it up and eat, watch t.v. and chill without any hassles over what they're going to eat. There is something for everyone if they look hard enough and like fast food!

It's not so much the cooking part ,as much as the convenience of getting in you car and being able to stuff your neck minutes later. I would rather have a home cook meal over fast food anyday and twice on Sunday!

The fast food seems to be more flavourful..and maybe the general public does not trust the 'home cooking' anymore and they should because the state of the kitchens and the workers habits in the fast food industry is terrible!! (for the most part)

Let's face it, who has time for a home cooked meal? Families where both parents work full time and the kids are in school and sports, music lessons, etc... don't have time to cook or to wait for a homecooked meal. Fast food is exactly that, fast, not to mention much easier to eat in the car than a roast beef dinner.

Home cooking absolutely DOES win over fast food! What are you talking about?

People just don't feel like cooking anything at home so they just go out and buy something that is made fast.

I think this mostly comes to a time issue. People like things quick and easy and cooking a home cooked meal takes time to prepare. It is so much easier to go through a drive through and wait a few minutes for your order.

This is too bad since home cooked meals are made with love. Also, you know everything that is put into it.

Sorry, but I think everyone would prefer home cooking to fast food. They only do it out of being too lazy to want to cook and clean up at home. Besides, most fast food is hamburgers, and who wants that everyday? I prefer my own home cooked burgers, at least I know what kind of beef it is.

Home cooking is the best, because you can make your own recipes and add what you want, many people are allergic to foods, as I am, and to eat out it can get tough. I sit there and tell them, ask the chef if he cooks with this or that. But if you have a good cook, thats the way to go. good luck
