ok i have Dell Diminsions 4600 and i am looking to update my GeForce FX 5200 graphics card to a BFG GeForce 7800 GS. now right now my computer power supply is only 250w and so i am wanting to buy this power supply with 500w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817148027 and i am not very good with computers so does this power supply reach the requirements of this graphics card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143046 please i am not very good with computers i need help.

Yes it meets the power requirements, and it IS compatible with your Dell computer. The third power connector the one guy was mentioning was eliminated about 7 years ago, and I have checked the specs on your case and it has the standard mounting holes, so the new PSU will fit in the case.

That power supply will work with the graphics card you want to purchase, but did you open up your Dell to make sure the power supply would work with your computer? Most Dell's (XPS is the exception) have proprietary PSU and can not be upgraded with off the shelf units, as they have an extra power connector that 3rd party power supplies do not have, such as the one you are looking to buy. That and the PSU in Dells are of a different shape and configuration as well.

A 500w power supply will be just fine for any graphic card on the market. Hands down.

You do need to upgrade the power supply thats fr sure but make sure your motherboard will except the graphic card first ... check with dell first before you go out and buy it, then find out it won't fit
