people are going on and on about how especially hillary and obama would ruin the country, and how much democrats in general suck, and that they hate america, and on and on. You wont find a single republican talking about bush, and his integrity/character problems. I.E. the cocaine and alcohol addiction, being a failed business person, and generally making bad choices in his life and presidencey. Not to mention his wife being in a cocoon most of it after her little vehicular manslaughter incident when she was 17. Yeah, ran a stop sign, killed someone. No charges filed. Strange that conservatives stick to their guys as much as dem do, and call us yellow dogs. It strains comprehension. There is little, and I mean little difference between the two that are electable to that office.

I'm not shouting at republicans. Not at all. And it's not the hypocricy in my statement so much as the hypocricy of the republican party. Think of every MAJOR scandal in politics that involved our govenment. Ones that had to do with death, and dishonor, and you will find people calling themselves republicans heavy on the list. Why is it so difficult for us to see the good in someone, and elect the goodness rather than the party. I can think of three republicans that would make great presidents in my opinion, but none would ever be elected because they dont fit a publicly acceptable mold. Politics are disgusting, and I think that the earlier answer is right. It's a choice between a douche and a turd sandwich. I just wish I wasn't so disillusioned and fed up with the whole process. At least with reagan and clinton, they projected passion, and the want for leadership, and general peace. Even if it was bullsheit. They were leaders with all their flaws. But its all in the crapper now.

I think a better question would be why do people think that, just because people don't agree with them, they are un-American; whether they be Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, independent, etc.

People need to start to realize that there is more than one rational way to look at things.

In regards to why people hate Democrats, the country seems to go through phases where one party is like less than the other. Before the Great Depression Republicans were in control, but when they couldn't get us out, the Democrats took over. Then, after the country thought the Democrats were being soft on communism, we went Republican. Now it seems the country is getting fet up with Republicans, specifically Bush, and it is looking like we are starting to go Democrat again.

You seem to be very hypocritical. You say that republicans complain about democrats too much, but here you are shouting at the republicans. You know, George Washington warned the country not to be split by political parties when he left office. As you can see, we didn't take his advice, though we would probably have been better off...

As an American, I think I can say most of us are too quick to take sides. I'm not saying that you aren't right, but that is the whole point that presidents can't serve forever. He's in his second term, so next election will be all new people! Don't be so angry about it.

Josh this is a good question. But the very fact you are posting this question and getting these answers makes it all worth while. You make some great points. Every man who has led our nation seems to have had some flaws and some of them were huge. But in the end America is bigger, stronger, greater, more powerful and freer than any other nation on this planet EVER has been. I is only natural for dems to defend dems and republicans to see there candidates as great. But in private they all know we are human and not perfect.
Still we are a blessed nation ...and yes with flawed leaders who led flawed human beings. Leaders who sometimes make very flawed decision that cost our nation dearly for a time. Many were embarrassed by Clinton’s bad decisions but he led us well..our economy grew and the budgets’ were balanced and we did some good internationally. And Nixon made some awful mistakes that again hurt us as a nation but he also opened the doors to China and it was under his stewardship that we withdrew from a failed war that Democratic Presidents really had escalated out of control.
Bush is no George Washington and he has no Harry Potter wand to make everything al l better ..but as bad as some think he is in the end Bush will be remembered for the way he rallied America after 9/11 and the fact our economy grew stronger and he was able to send the empty promises to our elderly and come up with a medical drug benefit and finally commit our nation toward fighting AIDS globally and yes in hindsight spreading democracy in the middle east may have been a dream that will never be realized and a dream that cost us the lives of many of our best and brightest young patriots. But every man or woman who has put on a uniform knows that they are preparing to risk there lives to host those stars and bars high and they do so with Pride in country. Some of those in uniform have become disillusioned because our policy seems so scattered and lacking in clear direction. But these are the real heroes among us ..and those who run for elected office are also placing there lives at risk. consider how many Presidents have been shot...not killed but shot at. And then ask yourself what a cost they pay when they run for elected office and have every character flaw they ever had in there lives and some that wee just made up...all public ally debated on TV and radio. If we wait long enough even Obama may end up having some flaw discovered…really it can be a challenging and very hard road to walk and a lonely one and yet some few among us think they have a vision, they have an issue, they have dream to make our nation greater and stronger and better. And even if they fail...America is not the poorer ....rather those who fail to see the wonder in this shinning city on a Hill are the poorer. Be optimistic ....as my late daddy use to say...we cannot always control people or events but we can always control how they affect us. Be happy, America is great because you can ask these questions without fear and know that people may disagree with you without fear.
And that is something we should all be thankful of. Freedom!
Men great and noble men have died just to boldly shot that, our Presidents with all of their flaws insure America’s freedom continues to be a beacon of light that will not retreat from a world of darkness.

Everyone makes bad choices in life, or has an accident. But exactly how does that compare to conspiracy and murder?

I suppose you overlooked the Clinton Mafia. It seems anyone who has opposed the family in the past is found mysteriously dead - ruled as "suicide."

Big, big difference.

Neither Hillary or Obama are going to become president of the United States, so I pay very little attention to them. However, I do hope that we wind up with someone who has a much better character than Bush.

No, unions do lots of dumb stuff. Just like the Florida legislature - hate, greed, self-serving nonsense and failure to identify root causes of real problems all occur when dumb people get control of unions or run for office in FL and get elected. Same difference.

First of all, your an idiot who was know idea what your talking about. He never had a cocaine or alcohol addiction, he just had some drinking problems when he was younger. Bad choices in life? I see you give no examples. I assume you are referring to Iraq when you mention choices in his presidency. He made some mistakes, but I wouldn't call them bad choices. Why are you attacking his wife? Who cares about her. And ALOT of Republicans are against the war, myself not included. He has also lost support from the majority of conservatives due to his liberal immigration policy and rediculous spending. He's hardly a conservative. And by the way, Hillary and Obama would ruin the country.

They don't hate them. They fear them. The old school democrats did not have to be feared. Now days, Democrats want to completely change our heritage, our culture, and our way of life. So many of them want to be socialists. They don't tolerate what is the norm. Instead they advocate for those who are different no matter how few there are or how damaging their beliefs can be. Lieberman and Zel Miller are more old school Democrats and rarely evoke fear. Democrats feed off of fear and talking about problems without having an original thought or solution.

They would just turn the other cheek if New York were blown off the planit by terrorests.
