Chip off and remove as much as possible first. Then take a terry towel and lay it down on the wax, then take an iron (on meduim heat) and place it on the towel, this will enable the wax to wick up into the towel. Be sure to keep inspecting the towel as you work, and continue moving to a fresh or clean area of the towel until the wax is gone. Dyes in candles can cause permenant stains, once wax is removed if a stain remains treat as a dye stain.

1. Put a dry paper towel down on the carpet.
2. Then place a dish towel on top of that.
3. Iron the dish towel.
4. The wax will melt and be soft causing it to stick on the paper towel instead.
This totally works...also works on getting it out of a table cloth.

if you can't ice it and scrape it up, then put a rag over it and use a warm iron to melt the wax into the rag. DONT GET IT TOO HOT it will melt your rug too. then use a citrus based solvent to blot out the color.
