Ok I'm studying pythogorean theorem and it goes like this

a[squared]+b[squared]=c[squared]

Now, I plugged in the numbers and I got this equation:

24[squared]+x[squared]=25[squared]

556+x[squared]=625 <<<

24^2 +x^2 = 25^2

24 squared is 576, not 556
so
576 +x^2 = 625
x^2=49
x=7

First you go back anddo 24 squared again it's 576.
576 + X^2 = 625 . Subtract 576 from both sides of the equation
x^2 = 49 Then take square root of both sides of equation
X = 7 it's actually 7 and -7 becuase when you take square root of both sides of the equation you have to put a plus and a minus in front of the square root of 49. Sorry except you are finding the length of a side of a triangle therefore the answer can't be negative
X = 7

You subtract the two numbers so its 625-556 and then take the sqaure root of whatever the number is. That number is 69 so take the square root of 69 and you get its about 8.31 thats rounded to the hundreths.

subtract 556 from 625 then find the square root of that number.

first its 576 not 556
576+x^2=625
x^2=625-576
x^2=49
x= square root(49)
x=49
