Find something your passionate about and pursue it. Colleges like to see someone who really cares about something, not someone who joined 45 clubs so they're resume would be longer than the next Harry Potter book. However, whatever you do, don't sign up for an activity just because you think it'll look good. This is something you'll be dedicating time to, and looking back you'll be glad if you did something b/c you really cared about it, not just as a prerequisite for college.

When you get to high school, you realize that middle school/junior high really don't count much at all, although getting good A's is a start. Find something your good at, clubs, sports or volunteer, also try to find something to show that you can be a leader. Do well in academics and on the national tests. Make sure you develop good relationships with your teachers, because they will be writing your recommendation letters. Remember, sometimes doing on small activity will put you over another student who has done as well as you but has not done that activity

Do a lot of extra curricular activities that apply to what you want to do when you apply to harvard. Harvard looks for people who go above and beyond the norm so make sure you get involved in student govt. and related activities. Also, always keep your grades up!
Good luck!!!

ive seen people that have graduated number 2 in their class at a 5A school and applied but still didnt get in. my advise is to take all of the honors classes you can and never get a B. join lots of clubs, but dont just join them, be active and it really helps to hold a leadership position. harvard likes leadership qualities in people. i know it sounds really shallow, but having a rich daddy or grandpa helps too. if u dont have that, theyre still looking for diversity. good luck. it might be better hearing stuff that comes from a harvard grad though.

Try starting a business, non-profit, writing and publishing a book, song, or poetry, or doing original research. That will get any college's attention.

Have your daddy build a new science building or something. That'll get you in for sure.
