That may be part of it. It seems that there is not as much commitment to trying to make it work as there was in the past. I think people are leaving sooner and for less than they used to.

Many do. Happened to me. I got married when I was 17 and divorced at 19. Some people just get married for the wrong reasons as well. Like she gets pregnant and they want to do the right thing. Or, some people are just so anxious to get married, they don't really care who it is with.

I think most marriages end in divorce because people get married. There's a lot to be said for living in sin.
"Mind over matrimony"
"Just say NO"

It's likely not just an age issue, but a compatibility problem.
And some people are just in love with the idea of being married, without being realistic about it...

I am sure that is probably true in many cases; however, I also think that people marry too quickly (regardless of age) before they really get to know the person they choose to spend the rest of their life with.

No, I don't. I think a majority of marriages end because of boredom, routine, the chaos of having a family and generally getting in the habit of forgetting what made you fall in love in the first place.

Hmmm, I don't know...My parents were 17 and 18 when they got married. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. However, I don't think they are the rule but the exception.

That's one thing, the other is that communication was not the cornerstone of their relationship usually.
