Just because she is married to a black man does not mean that all of her misconceptions have gone. I know many white women who have gone out with black men who are still racist. They go out with the men because they like them as individuals, but they believe that their men are the exception to the rule. They still believe that most black people are how racists see them. So, when they get around their friends, they remember those stereotypes and get embarrassed. JUst because a man marries a woman, does that make him unable to be a womanizer? In fact, it could be her belief in those "stereotypes" that made her marry him. And. we all know which ones I am talking about! If I were her friend, I would sit her down and tell her that she needs to think about her behavior. She probably won't be married long. And, hopefully she does not have children with him, if she is going to be ashamed of him because she will be ashamed of them, also.

Probably. Some rednecks have a few racist qualities, especially those born in small towns with barely any divertisty. Some get it from their parents, some get it from their friends and such. She shouldn't be ashamed of the guy she's married to, especially if she loves him. If her peer group makes any racist comments, they need to be confronted about it in a direct way that gets the message across that racism is badddd.

I agree with Jan on this one. I know a lot of people who were brought up a certain way and eventually changed their views. But deep inside them they still had a small trace of prejudice. Eventually, if she loves him and they sit down and discuss it, she should come to realize that her husband is her truest friend and she should choose him over her friends.
And to the ignoramus who posted the link. FYI domestic violence is just as prevalent in white relationships as it is in interracial and black relationships. Furthermore I saw the 20/20 story on this case, and just to make it clear, the battered wife is black woman not a white one ;-)

She shouldn't.
Christ, she just got married. Not committed a crime.
But yes, ignorance can incite violence and pressure, which in turn would make said white woman ashamed.

Not at all. When she chose to marry him, she must recognize his dignity as all other men on earth. Dark skin is not the problem, only dark brain is.
