Only the baby will decide when you will go into labor.

I was 6 days late.

My first pregnancy was also a boy and I went in to labor 2 days b/f my due date and he was born a day b/f my due date. But a friend of mine went 2 weeks over so it is really up to the baby.
BTW, Everyone told me that since he was my first he would be late but he proved them wrong LOL.

Only something like 5% of babies come on their due date. Most first babies are late comers, too. With my son, I had a cesarean at 10 days overdue.

I think I read somewhere that boys are more likely to be late than girls, but I could be mistaken.

Go ahead and make sure your hospital bag is ready and you have a list of all the people you'll want to call, though, so you're ready when the time comes!

Good luck and congratulations!

You go into labor any time after 37 weeks , that is considered full term, only 5% of woman deliver or labor on their due date. Has your OB discussed induction & when they will? You will want to bring this up at your next visit hopefully within the next few days. Good Luck

Don't want to scare you, but I too was 2 weeks over-due with my son and had to be induced, after my natural labor stopped. Like everyone else has said, everyone is different, and it is even different with each child you will have. I know it is hard to do, but try to relax and eventually, the baby will decide it is time to see the world. Ask your Dr. for tips on how to speed up the process, but I don't know as if any of them have been medically proven to work.

I was 2 weeks late with my boy and had to be induced. The baby generally decides when they want to come...but some need a little help.

It all depends on your diet and the amount of excercise and how you take care of yourself throughout your pregnancy.Walking is the best form of excercise for a mommy to be,drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest, take your vitamins, eat healthy and don't over exert yourself close to your due date.If you do these things all should go well for you and your little boy.Oh and try to remain calm, because the baby will feel everything that you feel while you are pregnant.Don't get stressed out.Babies like alot of eye contact and physical contact,so hold him alot, tell him he's loved even if he's having a tempertantrum, and always look him in his eyes. They like that alot.Congratulations on having a boy I have one that's 4 and he is so sweet and so much fun!!Good luck

Hi,

You will go into labour when baby wants to come out.... The scan and predicted dates given by doctors are just a guideline...so that you are prepared. Take it easy and relax.....dont stress too much as to when or how.....you will have sweet little boy...think about him and all the best

cheers

I went into labor a week before my due date.

The due date, at best, is an educated guess. Nothing more. What I was told was the baby will come when it is ready, and no one is going to be able to change that without inducing.

They will allow you to go up to 2 weeks beyond your due date (typically - I have heard of longer), and if the baby still hasn't come, then they will induce your labor.

Good luck and congrats!!!!

It depends on when your last Dr. visit was and if he said you were effaced or dilated. I have my Dr. appt on my due date and ended up having him on my due date, first time babies are usually late. It all depends on what your Dr. has said during your weekly exams. Good luck and congrats

Only 5% of women will actually deliver on their due date.
