Well that's a tough question because you didn't say anything about your budget...
If you make good money then I would stay at on one of the resorts on the southern part of Maui, has some amazing beaches, shopping and resorts.
Activities for kids aren't as abundant as on the other islands. Try the zip lines, molokini and the Old Lahiana Luau.
As for Molokini use Friendly Charters, I can't say enough about the people that worked there. The boat wasn't crowded, the food was good, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Definitely sign the teenagers up for Snuuba. A combination of scuba and snorkeling.
The Old Lahaina Luau is the only locally produced Luau that is not presented by a resort or hotel. Make sure you book in advance, but this is by far the best Luau on Maui. Don't settle for cheesy imitations!!!

Molikini in a sunken crater for snorkeling,
Lahina is a fun town for partying (best luau & ice cream),
Drive or take donkeys up Haleakala volcano before sunrise,
Spend the day to drive to Hana. Beautiful ride, and the only way to get to the 7 pools. But dont just stop at the bottom pool- keep climbing for a wonderful swimming experience.
