yes and no.

My family roots are from the south but I was raised in the north. A few years ago I moved to the south and moved my business there. After over a year of research I moved. In the north I never had a problem getting customers...but once I went south it was like I was the bringer of the plague. Every customer I knocked on said no, go home yankee or something along those lines.

After many months of no luck I bumped into the president of a local Bank of America who had been transferred there from the north. She said her and her husband had lived there for 4 years and her neighbors still won't say hi to her. And they too get comments of "go home yankee".

They say there is no separation or anything...but living it first hand I say that fraction within USA is still there. Even my Dad backed this up once I returned to the north. He said in his working days he had tried to open a few office branches in the south and they wouldn't have anything to do with him based on the fact he talked and walked like a northern.

Really sad world we live in when people just can't get along. If we were all the same...it would be but one boring life time.

Most ALL Americans treat each other with equal respect in the long run. We are all anxious to be of service to each other, care about each other, and are concerned and helpful toward each others needs, groups and issues; as we are our fellow mankind in all the world. We also care equally about all peoples on Earth. We each get involved, participate, and do what we can in our daily lives to help anyway we can with whatever crosses our paths each day.
