This is the United States of America where freedom is cherished, if not encouraged as long as one's freedom doesn't harm another. For example, we have freedom of speech - but yelling "fire" in a crowded theator is illegal (if no fire exists) as it could lead to injuries among the crowd trying to escape. We have freedom of religion and freedom of choice, and NO elected politician can MAKE anyone embrace another culture here.

Another tenant we have in this country is separation of the church and state - if ANY elected politician tried to MAKE america embrace Islam, or any other religion for that matter- he would be promptly removed from office.

Thirdly, where do you get that Obama is a follower of Islam? His own website states that he is a member of theTrinity United Church of Christ. While the Church of Christ is not as widely known as the Catholic church or any of the other Protestant religions, it certainly is far different from Islam. I find it hard to believe that a Christian, elected or not, would promote a religion they themselves do not follow.

Lastly - I will put fourth that both sides - Christians, Jews and Islamists alike, do need better education and respect for each other - something a group like that recorded in your vid is no doubt excellent at promoting. I have had some coursework in Arab and Islamic culture. Because of which, I am among the first to defend that religion as a whole! Not every muslim is a terrorist, but these days it seems every terrorist IS a muslim. The reality is - there are many clerics and leaders who do have the influence and the will to create violence, and enough disrespect of us non-muslims to direct that violence our way! This has to be stopped. America is not waging a holy war against Islam itself. Bin Laden did strike the first blow against a global target (World Trade Center) out of contempt for western culture and Christianity - he and everyone else who threatens similar acts against people of other nations and/or non-muslim religions and not and will NOT be taken lightly.

Not sure that any single political figure can influence in that arena. Our "culture" is a capitalistic society and our everyday lives, from having decent shelter, enough food, health care, to how we take care of our children and elderly are in some way dependent upon how much money one has. There is a growing gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots". Sadly, most people are too busy barely surviving to truly learn, embrace and appreciate any culture other than their own familiar one.

He ought to be focusing on Afghanistan and our undesirable troops who're gonna be slaughtered over there if he doesnt concentration on it. I for one have a huge challenge with this for the reason that the two my youthful sister and my husband would be deploying to Afghanistan in Jan.
