I believe in a woman's right to choose.
My own tubes--I'll leave them untied.

Originally, I thought it was the perfect thing to do if you already have kids and don't plan on having anymore. Unfortunately, I'm only 21, and most doctors would perfer not to do it until a woman is in her late 20's. At first this upset me very much thinking about if i got pregnant, i would have to get an abortion because i can't handle any more kids, and going through another pregnancy. But eventually I realized that getting that done takes away your "power" to have kids, which is part of what being a woman is all about. Also, even getting your tubes tied is not foolproof, I could still get pregnant, and have to deal with the same things. Using another method, like an IUD is basically just as efficient, can last as long as 10 years, and still gives you the "power" to change your mind even if you don't plan on using it!!! Much more than having a reversal surgery.

After having six children and watching two of them pass away due to health issues I had mine tied. I am 32 and have two 11 year old's, an 8 year old, two 6 year olds and a 19 month old....I think that is more than plenty. I read that someone said it was just like murder....what is the difference in having your tubes tied and being on the pill?? Either way, if it is in the Lord's plan for someone to have children, they are going to have that child(ren) no matter if they are on the pill, have their tubes tied or whatever.

As a gynecologist who has done tubal ligation's on about a lakh of my patients over the last 30 years of my practice.
I wish to state as follows.
Tubal ligation has helped millions and millions of poor and rich women in avoiding unwanted pregnancies.
It is very easy for the affluent class to denounce tubal ligation, but the poor lady slum dweller dreads the thought of an unwanted pregnancy, and ONCE SHE HAS TWO CHILDREN , TUBAL LIGATION IS IS A BLESSING FOR HER. The operation is very safely done by Laparoscope and the lady can be back to work within 3 to 4 days.

My personal opinion is......it depends on your age, how many kids you currently have, affordability of having another and your personal opinion about giving birth in general if you don't have any kids of your own yet.
My tubes are tied and I made the right decision. I have 3 wonderful children but I knew it was time to call it quits. It was the right choice for me. It all depends on your situation and your relationship with your partner.
Good Luck!

It's perfectly fine if you are absolutely sure you don't want anymore children. My mom had her tubes tied. She regrets it though, because she remarried and decided she wanted another child. The reversal surgery may have been too expensive or thought to be unsuccessful, but she no longer has any options.

When I was pregnant with my second child I knew I didn't want any more kids and since I was having a c-section they just did it at the same time. Only do it if you are positive you don't want any more kids. It's worth it if you're sure.

Its good if you don't want any more kids. Its not 100% and it is only guaranteed for up to 7 yrs last time I knew.
I personally am against for me, but I know several people who have done it and still end up with tubal pregnancies.
Good luck
