I have found two places Im trying to decide between in Amsterdam... not sure which one is a better location. They are both about the same price. Anyone visited either? How far would it be from either one of these to the center of the city?

The location of both is in the city center. I would go for Hotel my home. I live near the Haarlemmerstraat where that hotel is located and that's one of the nicest streets of Amsterdam. It's a really nice area close to the Jordaan.
The other hotel may look a bit better from the pictures but it's located in a very busy street with trams that make a lot of noise. It's near the big shopping streets but the other hotel is too. Hotel my home is just located in less touristic area and everything is nearby like restaurants, shops, cafes etc.

Enjoy your trip!

We enjoyed staying at the Acacia Bed & Breakfast. It was anything but a normal hotel. It is a very old converted warehouse that is a tall building & very narrow. The stairs are quite steep, but the rooms were comfortable. The staff was wonderful.. and we even stayed on one of their houseboats one night! It was an amazing experience.

The breakfast was very good & a traditional one. Across the street were two pubs that were also very charming. On one day there was a street fair (which I understand happens weekly). We walked to the train station, Anne Frank Haus, Van Gogh Musuem & others. See the link below! It's also in the same general area you're looking at.

If your looking not to spend a lot of money, i would stay at the Hotel Hortus. Free breakfast in the morning and you get your own front door key, room key, and there is a safe in the room. Pool table, satalite TV, internet access, vending machine with heienken in it, free coffee and tea. Nice ppl work there, specially Dennis. Its not far from the center of the city...two stops on the underground subway.

They're both in the same general location. You're right on the tram line, so could get to a more central area in just a few minutes.

IMO the Manofa looks nicer.
