Hi folks. A friend of mine is going to be travelling around Vietnam, Africa etc and needs to take a laptop or notebook computer with her. She needs something small and light, but with a good battery life per charge. Does anyone have any suggestions?

i suggest acer.. for the type i'm not sure whether is it available on your country...acer travelmate 3040..
the weight is only 1.69 kg.. with the size 297.5 (W) x 210 (D) x 25.4/33.1 (H) mm.. the display 12.1" WXGA high-brightness
battery can hold for 5.5 hours and it can charge 80% in just 1 hour..
the harddisk is also protected with Acer DASP+ (Disk Anti-Shock Protection)

I have an awesome lenvo computer, fast, light, medium sized, batterly lasts forever. I am not sure on the model though sorry.

2GHz+ Dell or HP/Compaq are reliable. Get extra battery if need.
