To ensure proper nutrition, strong growth and a healthy long-lived turtle, feed a varied diet to both adults and juveniles. Just remember that adults eat less animal protein and more vegetable matter. Juveniles must be fed every day; adults can be fed once every two to three days. Do not feed more than they can eat; the excess food will go to waste and foul the water.

Pyramiding is more often due to low humidity (very hot basking sites are very, very dry) and imbalanced diet, not amounts of food.

As long as the portions are not too big, it will be OK for the first year. (A portion is the size of the head).

The rule of thumb is daily for the first year, every other day for a year or two, then every three days. This is not a hard and fast rule, though.

You should just feed it every day(sure it will get huge but it will live longer). Mine is 2 years old.

I sujest giving it some live fish (got to the store and get small fish) keep a constant supply of live fish in there and he will eat as he is hungry.
