I am due in 10wks 2 days (not that i'm counting or anything! lol).

If the delivery is a smooth running vaginal delivery with no complications and no probs with baby how long, roughly, would i have to stay in hospital? I really don't like hospitals and am hoping for a smooth running delivery to get outta there ASAP! LOL.

Thanks in advance.

My sister-in-law had a no-complications vaginal delivery, and she stayed for 25 hours after the baby was born.

I had a c-section and stayed for two nights afterwards, but would have been able to stay another day, maybe two (in retrospect, I really should have stayed longer!).

The hospital we used checked the baby right after birth, and then again at the 24 hour mark. If the second check was good, then the baby is able to be released as soon as the mom's dr. gives the okay.

Good luck and congratulations!

am not sure exactly cause i have never been in hospital after a delivery but if a would 2 guess with how long my friends or family member have been in for a would Say from2days-a week depending if ur delivery goes well or not if everything is good with u and the baby then u should be fine 2 go with a few days maybe even that day but a guess it all depends on what happens when u give birth but if u have a really bad problem with hospital maybe u could ask ur midwife on how long it would be for u
good luck

I was in the hospital for 3 days because i had my son via c-section. A vaginal delivery is usually 2 days but you can sign yourself out at anytime.

With most insurance plans and doctors recommend 2 days for a normal non complicated delivery.

there are distinctive diverse eventualities with miscarriage. usually when you're miscarriaging already and the bleeding isn't undesirable adequate to imagine you're hemorraghing then they're going to deliver you residing house immediately. If that is a D&C they're going to do it extremely quick and usually about an hour after the technique they deliver you residing house. when you're added alongside(previous 17 weeks or so) it really is not considered miscarriage that is a stillborn. There are alot better issues that could flow incorrect there so that you'll probably be hospitalized till they understand your bleeding is less than administration and that the continues to be have thoroughly been handed.

I stayed for about 32hrs after my son was born. I had to wait for them to give the ok for him to go because he had a bit of fluid in his lungs. I think it just depends on the hospital. I would call and speak to someone in the maternity ward at the hospital you will be in, and ask how long the average stay is for a normal delivery... Good Luck! Oh, and enjoy your stay, it is kinda nice while your there just because you have people basically waiting on you, and you get to just enjoy your little one... :)

I was in labor for 41 hours (almost 2 full days) before my son was born.
Then, I had to stay in the hospital for 2 more days after he was born.

BOY, was I ready to leave!!!

But, my doctor told me he woudn't let me go until I made my first bowel movement.
