History lesson number one.
Those who ignore historical events (especially the bad ones) are doomed to repeat them.
The memory of the holocaust is kept alive because many of the survivors are still around, old as they are, but the most important thing is that something like that should never ever be allowed to happen again. That is the reason, not because Jews want the world to pity them. The systematic deportation, abuse and murder of almost six million souls, not only Jews, mental patients, gypsies, political prisoners and whoever was not up to German Arian Standards, whether they were Jews or not, horrified the world.
By the way, Jews sometimes do create their own problems because of the way they behave towards the rest of us who are not Jews, like they have a perennial chip on the shoulder. On the other hand I have cool friends who are Jews and there is no problem. It takes all kinds to make a world.
It´s like having to care for the black population and the fact that most of them descend from slaves. Segregation was a shameful, ugly side of America the world did not particularly like and something had to be done about it.
Know your history. Know other cultures, before you speak ill of them.

The reason you should care is not because it happened to a certain race of people, but because it HAPPENED! If you studied it at all, and if you had a decent compassionate bone in your body, it would break your heart that people were treated this way. If you can't feel compassion for victimized people, there is something seriously wrong with you that you need to work hard to fix. It could have been you; what gave you the right to be born in this time and place of freedom?

To don't have to care about anything if you don't want to. However by making the sort of comments that you have just made, all you manage to do is look like an angry, ignorant pig who should try shutting the f*ck up.
Actually what you should try doing is taking a long, hot bath with your toaster (or any other electrical appliance), and see how many other people "give a crap".

You don't HAVE to care, but.. it's a nice gesture to show a bit of sympathy for those who were involved. And just because you haven't seen too many jewish people aside from those in tanks and the ones on tv, you shouldn't stereotype every single one of them.

Good you point that out. Trouble is they have blinders on and can't comprehend that they are doing the same to others. (that is why people hate Jews). Jews weren't the only ones who suffered. Gypsys, scientists, teachers, hobo's, mentally disabled also were gassed. But there is no mention of that is there? There were 20 million who died in the concentration camps. No mention. Just the unproven 6 million. It is their crutch.

Think about it.By the way the Turks commited genocide against the Armenians,Russia killed 30 million dissidents,China under Mao killed 100's of thousands.Paul pot and the Kymher Rouge killed anyone who was educated, or even wore glasses.I venture to say you would have been safe there.
