What's your ultimate goal? To get pregnant or just regulate your periods? I don't know of any natural answers. I had period "issues" and used a short term (3 mo) birth control round and it worked for me.

Since your periods have been abnormal for so long, you may want to look into other things that could be causing that. Do you have cysts? Do you have thyroid issues? There are a lot of other things that can cause irregular periods, if you get that under control, it may help you.

I don't know of anything "natural" to do.

I too had irregular periods. It was due to my being very athletic (3 sport player in high school, college varsity athlete, continual athletic activity beyond school. . .). The doctor told me that there was nothing wrong with this, and other than the bother of not knowing when I was going to have them, there was nothing really needed to do. I got on birth control pills to regulate them.

I don't really understand how going on birth control is "getting hyped up on drugs". BC is actually hormone therapy, but it is used to control ovulation and prevent implantation. There is no "hyped up" being done. The only side effects I have from my bc is some water weight gain, but I just regulate my salt intake and drink plenty of water, and I control that.

If irregular periods are bothering you, speak to a doctor. Tell them your concerns on going on bc pills just to regulate, and ask if there is any other way of doing this without medication. They are going to be able to assist you better, not to mention find out if your irregular periods are due to something other than "nature".

Irregular periods are not normal and you could be experiencing a bigger health concern than you think. Some people experience this and get diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian syndrome PCOS which causes diabetes and high blood pressure and even more than that. I don't really understand what your asking because if you want to birth control a natural way use condoms and if you want to get your body on the right track you really have to see a doctor and get some lab work to get diagnosed.

What does bother you being irregular? Only irritant could be to know when actually you the pads... LOL.
Cool. My friend has the same issue. Some times 40 days - some times even 65 days. It never hindered her in getting 3 healthy children in a very normal way.
To get the dates periodic, take contraceptive pills. Once the pills cycle is over, you will get the periods.

The only answer I have is going on birth control to regulate your cycles. You may also call your local health foor / herbal stores to see if they have any remedies for you.
