The Trac Phone will get service just about anywhere in the country. There are no services that refuse the service to your phone as they get paid directly for the use. It used to be that AT&T had as full range of service untill they sold out to Cingular, which ruined it. I quit Cingular because of it. In any case the Trac Phone will cost you more per minute because of it's bouncing off of any tower. So you have to wheigh the cost with the service. Also you will have to constantly recharge your minutes by calling in on another phone service (ie Pay Phone, or Home Phone) and punching in the numbers of your newly purchased time card. Easly foun at wal-mart and such. Service is great. Price to keep it with time SUCKS!
I truck all over the country so I KNOW the service. For me Verizon works the best. I don't care what anybody says. I have used nearly every service. I need to keep in touvh with brokers wherever I go and places I deliver. Once in a while Verizon has no service area, and usually 3 or 4 miles down the road I get it back. BUT...if I have to stay in an area where ther is no service on my Verizon, then and only then will I break down and use the Track Phone. It's just too expensive.
Good Luck!

I have had one for more than a year now and I love it. But I only have minimal use (say about one minute per day, on average), if you like to talk a lot better go with Net10. I like the option to only have to add time once per year and not worry about monthly bills, both tracfone and net10 have that. Other prepaid plans are more expensive.

Tracphone and Net10 are under the same company and Net10 has a much better plan for minutes. With Tracphone you pay $20 for like an hours worth of airtime and Net10 you get 300 minutes for $30 . Both systems are on the Cingular network and reception is good.

My parents had two TracFones for my little brothers, but they ended up spending too much money for not enough minutes; so they ended up just putting them on a family plan from T-Mobile.
