1 is the frame built by a certified welder. 2 is this going to be a safe machine in diverse conditions 3 do i want it to attract people or convey me in safety 4 will it be assembled and all fasteners properly torqued, by a qualified mechanic or a moron in a doo rag 5 are the lighting systems safe and adequate. 6 how far will i beable to ride this thing before monkey butt sets in
7 what are the warranties for each part, and who will do the repairs, IE will he stand behind the parts he installs with his own 2 hands 8 Ask yourself What Exactly You want or need, and not what you and your pals think is cool 9 go ride a similar model before writing a check 10 Can i insure this machine for its replacement cost with any degree of economy. 11 What is the expected lifespan in miles of this configuration.
My guess is most aftermarket builders will be saying no in short order. Wait 2 yrs, the fad will be dying down, like it did in the 80s, and these hoe wagons will be a dime a dozen.

I was going to build it myself.
I went to all the shop[s in my area and told them what I wanted.
Two were willing to work with me. As a parts supplier/technical assistance. Unless you want an off-the-shelf design, or something you don't like (ala OCC on TV) you need someone who is willing to listen to you.

Situations have changed, and I have a slightly modified (mostly stock) HD now. The plans, parts list are still in my book, and the shop has now become a pretty well known custom builder.

A smaller shop who can deliver personalized service and create what the client wants within budget and on time.
