QUESTION? I continually receive the following error message "Cannot find 'http:///'
I receive this message even when I am not using the Internet.

This usually occurs after windows update/IE7 update. It's New.Malware.j trojan.

SOLUTION: Disable hpprintspool.exe on your startup, and remove the hpprintspool.exe file.

You can search hpprintspool from regedit, then delete the folder containing the registry.

Select RUN off your start Menu and type regedit

Select FIND from the Registry Editor and delete every instance of
hpprintspool.exe You will have to select FIND NEXT from your Registry Editor each time you delete a file. You will find around six
hpprintspool files and will have to search and delete each one of them in order to keep the "Cannot find 'http:///' error from continuing.

If this does not work or you can't find hpprintspool on your system, than you have another New.Malware.j trojan file that needs to be identified. Hope this helps.

Contrary to popular belief this usage is not lazy or indecent nor is it as recent as many of you seem to think. At least as far back as the time of the American Revolution pls or plz was used in place of please in correspondence , again after the introduction of the telegraph, and most recently with the advent of text messaging, and all for the same reason, cost. During the early days of our country both paper and ink were expensive, so there were accepted methods of abbreviation to cram as much information into a letter as possible pls (or plz) was one example of this. When sending telegrams you were charged by the word (as in typing every 5 characters not actual words) so once again pls was used (among many other shortcuts u for you and so on) to make the sending of a message as cost effective as possible. As for text messaging, when first introduced, you may recall, we were charged per message we sent, so cutting letters out of messages meant a single text could be sent instead of two. It became a habit that carried over onto the internet, even though the need for the abbreviation no long exists,,,,to be fair though I am fairly sure you type OK or okay instead of Orl Korrekt which is the widely accepted original phrase the abbreviation came from, so can you really cast stones?

Hi Manuel,

Just started getting same problem yesterday. I don't even open a browser and the dialog box comes up. I have run all the anti spyware and all the anti virus and it did not find the source of the problem. If I close the dialog box it comes back in about 15 seconds. Very irritating. The dialog box starts at boot up. I will let you know if I find a solution.

Ok you want the actual answer.. it was more or less answered earlier but some of you failed to get it but here it goes in super slo mo......
Click Start..... Search.... wait for the search box... click all files and folders... type in hpprintspool... make sure its set for looking in all hard drives.. press enter... Wait for the search to finish...

Once finished click on each one with the name hpprintspool and delete them... minimize the screens.. Right Click on Recycle Bin on the desktop... go down to empty recycle bin and click...

go back to the search page by hittin the tabs along the bottom bar.. start a new search... type in the same.. look in the same places... press enter... the search should show nothing now with the name hpprintspool.. if it does delete it and repeat the recycle bin process..

ok.. now thats done.. Go to start... click run.. type in regedit and click ok, wait for the screen to load.. now you need to go to the top to my computer on the left.. right at the top.. click the + - to show only my computer... click it again.. it should show 5 folders 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT' 'HKEY_CLASSES_USER' 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' 'HKEY_USERS' and 'HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG'

Right click on the top one 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT'.. go down to find.. type in hpprintspool... press enter.. it should say searching the registry... once finished scan through and pick out all the hpprintspool files... delete them.. .. after you feel you have them all check all the folders again just to make sure.. once you have them all nothing should appear on the left...

after doing this simply restart your computer, if you followed to this to the letter and your computer (Like mine) decides to be in a good mood n lets you fix it.. you should be smiling happily and back to business..

Good Luck.. its a bit of a mission

Web addresses begin with http:// - you've got http:/// - try again but with only two forward slashes

There is one too many slashes. There should only be 2 slashes.
