compaq and HP are the same, the recovery disk is particianed on the hard drive to activate recovery, just start tapping F10 as the computer starts powering up. it should bring a system recovery screen, follow the prompts from there

go to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html and put in the model of you computer and than chat with some one there they will give you a link to the web site you need.the ones i got for my desktop pc was about with shipping $15
