I've had back problems (including an L4/L5 and L5/S1 laminectomy and partial diskectomy) but last week started getting numbness, weakness, and tingling down my leg, all the way to the foot. Yesterday it started tingling worse -- moving to the top of my foot, too. I went to the Urgent Care at the ER and they gave me a Medrol (predniosolone) pack in addition to Lortab. I also take Mobic and Zanaflex (anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer).

What do you think? Should I be worried that I'm going to need additional surgery?

This is a workers comp case, and my regular neurosurgeon told me to the ER (but I chose the urgent care area of the ER instead). Chiropractic care is not an option under WC in my state. Plus, it would have to be approved in advance, and ins. co. is being slow to respond.

Additionally, I was worried about the ADVANCEMENT of the tingling/numbness/pain from ONLY on the bottom of my foot to now include the entire foot and ankle.

No, believe it or not a Chiropractor can help this. I know this for sure. Go and make an appointment right away. This is pretty important. I do not honestly think you are going to need surgery. You say additional, if you did have a surgery for the same reason, mention this to the Chiropractor as well.

Go to a bloody chiropractor for back issues first. The ER guys dont have a clue. They will only give you pills and send you on your way. Really, what do you expect the ER to do for tingling foot? They are there for EMERGENCY CARE!

Go see your docot even though you do have back problems there could be other problems causing your tingling and numbness(diabetes, heart problems, etc.)

All the signs are there. At least see a doctor you trust.

I would see a neurologist asap and talk to your surgeon.
