Ok, so today in english class i had to read my essay. I am a good reader but when i get nervous i rush my words and i stutter. So of course that happened today. Anywho, it sounds like i am a very bad reader when i read aloud, but i know the words they just don't come out right. this was my first impression on the class and teacher. now they are going to think i am underachiever, and that makes me really sad. Should i Worry about this or just get on with my life.

Assuming that you had to turn in the essay, your teacher is able to read it for herself and realizes that you are literate. We see this more often than you think. As for the other students, what would you think of another student that had difficulties as you. My guess is that you would feel bad for them for the moment and then go on. That is what your classmate have most likely done. Your anxiety about reading aloud would be relieved if you practiced in front of a caring friend before you read it to your class.

Good luck

The more you get up in front of people to speak, the easier it will become. volunteer as often as possible...you will become more comfortable. Shy away and it will always be a problem. School is the place to work through these things. Good Luck!

If you'd like, you could tell your teacher that you were nervous and that's why you stuttered and rushed.
Then, get on with your life. I guarantee you that the other students didn't notice.

Get on with your life.
there's no way of knowing what they think, if they think you're an underachiever or if they think you were just nervous.
And it doesn't matter what they think.
What matters is what you do next.
If some people think you're an underachiever and you're not, you'll soon show otherwise.
