I used this pill when I was 16 and then I got off of it for 4 years. I am now back on it and I have just started the colored pills and I am spotting dark brown blood. I wanted to find out if this was normal. Thanks.

I spotted alot(dark brown), cramped, and gained alot of weight. It also gave me really bad headaches. I also took it when I was 16. I am on Seasonale now and I am much happier.

Yes I had the same problem only after I had a child then resumed the pills again. Doctor says it's because they didn't have enough estrogen for me anymore, and put me on one that was just a bit stronger and all was well again.

this is a triphasal pill. there are 3 different levels that you are taking each week, this will casue your spotting. if you want to stay balanced each month take a pill that only has hormone level. this might make it better when it comes to cramping as well. good luck. i was on orthotricylen and switched to loovral and i love it!
