People used to think witches were real, as were nymphs, trolls, dragons, giants and multiple gods.

Over time these myths have been whittled down so that we are only actually left with a few, such as "god", life after death, and a fair taxation system..

The only way in which we "exist" after death is in the energy sense, and not the "ooooohhh" kind of energy, I mean the real scientific kind of energy, and being as their is no known way for this energy to bind together to form a consciousness then life after death is actually just a residual idea left over from a time when we knew less about the universe.

So in answer to your question, obviously...its a "no"..

I am an atheist. While I would say no, but honestly - nobody knows, because nobody can ever experiment with that scientifically, so honestly, there is no answer to that question.

These are one of those questions that really have no specific answers anyway, but a good one nevertheless.

No point listening to people who gave crap when they ask to die then come back and tell - not constructive at all.

The myth of life after death was created or coopted by the powerful and oppressing social class to passify and placate the general population into being satisfied with the dire circumstance on their present life, because, after all, everything will be A OK in life after death....... just wait buddy!

Definitely yes to believers of all the revelative religions.
They believe that all men come from God, so all will return to enjoy eternal bliss in the mercy of God, after successful training on earth.

I am happy to report that as a Christian Witnesses for Jehovah, I believe what Jehovah tell us threw his written word, Ecc. 9:5, 10 inform us that the dead are unconscious and therefore no threat to the living.

I don't.

I'm an atheist. I don't believe in an afterlife. I see no evidence that one exists.

I believe that when I die, I'm gone. Poof - no more Ralf. His intellect, his knowledge, his personality are gone. Forever.

I'm OK with that, too. It's not like I'll be using them any more.

The whole "heaven" thing be a white man's way to subserviate us blacks! They think that by giving us something to work for, we is going to be docile and pick their damn cotton! The whole afterlife is a whitey conspiracy!
