Most notebooks come with an interanl wireless card that should let you connect to a wireless conection. If you don't have a wireless card then you will have to purchase one for your notebook. It is not software that you need but hardware.

if it has wireless built in just get a wireless router, the brand does not matter. if it does not have wireless built in then get the highest bit per second card that you can afford. I got a generic card by zoom. for the price $29 it was the fastest rated card. Brand does not matter, performance rating is all you should care about. If you go to a computer store for a card tell the you want the highest performance wireless card they have that is cheapest. Generic brands give you better deals performance and cost...

If your manual says the system has a wireless card, and you're just looking for the best wireless software, go with the Odyssey client. I believe you can download it free, and it's a very good client. Once it's setup, and that's fairly easy, you don't have to do anything. It scans your system to see if you're wired or wireless and changes accordingly. Have fun sitting on your couch surfing.

The one that came with your notebook , if it was internal factory wireless, otherwise I would use the one that came with your wireless card . If you don't have it , you can go to most manufactures site and download it

purchase a prompt router. I have been given one from suited purchase for extra or less $50.You shouldnt choose for something extra advantageous than the backside of the line router till you have a very large abode. The router comes with an instal disk, instal it and your finished, you at the instant are prompt.

Now that Vista is out, they will be selling XP office edtion super cheap soon. Do like me and wait about a month and you can get that cheap.
