Both suck in my opinion! I repair PCs and they both have pee poor support! Do yourself a favor and by an HP! I say this not so much as either of the products being bad, but as someone who repairs PCs and knowing full well that the users cause 95 percent of their own problems, go with HP as it has the best support!

I would check to see which company dell or gateway has the better warranty and then go from there, for if the computers run the same hardware then either would be fine.

Really depends. Both are probably just fine.
Are the warranties equal?
Is the cost on par?
Are ALL the specs really the same?
I have worked with both lines for more than a decade, and have to say, that there really has been no difference in day-to-day usage. Both have had good and bad support... Both have had better pricing depending upon the day...
What makes you feel bettter?

If I were you I would go with gateway because I've had both and gateway has a slightly better costomer service

Don't even look at Gateway or Dell.
Look at IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpads, Sony VAIOs, and anything by Apple.
Or use a Linux OS.

The one that has better tech support services!! And in my view, both stink! Check with HP., much better service.
