If Brett does indeed come back the Packers will be in great shape heading into the 2007 season. If anybody saw the way the Packers finished the season they would understand that the Packers arent to far off from returning to another Superbowl, what seemed like a distant dream in the beginning of the 06' season, may become a reality, with the packers putting together a dynamic defense led by their vetran secondary and young savy line backers. With the Packers defense on the rise and a young team coming into it's own it doesnt matter how many interceptions # 4 throws 29 or 1 the Packers are a team on the rise BUT only with Brett Favre. If any of you read this and work for a newspaper i am looking to start a journalism career

I have just heard that Favre is in fact coming back for one more year, which is absolutely great for Packer fans and fans of the NFL.

I think that the Packers made great strides this year. Something that everyone doesn't know is that the Packers had the youngest team as far as starting players go. The o-line had 3 rookies starting at one point. Jennings will be back and Driver is a STUD. I do think that Ahman is really starting to trend down and a pick like Lynch or another young RB would really help the team. AJ hawk and Woodson are playing better on Defense so I see high hopes.

I think that they can definately get to a super bowl in the next year or two. The NFC is weak and shows no signs of stregthening so anyone can win. Plus, GB has the weakest division in the NFL as they went 5-1 in the division this year. I don't see them winning a SB as the AFC has probably 6-8 teams that are easily better than the Pack.

I agree except remember the reason that he threw alot of Int's is because of the fact he was pretty much on his own. Any time a Q.B. has to throw the ball 70% of the time just to get a first down there will be some forced balls and Int's. The running game wasn't there this year. Green needs to turn it up a notch or the packers need to draft a quality running back. Driver is a great receiver and will be better if they get Green to run the ball better so Brett can open up the passing game. I truly feel Brett has three maybe four more good years left in him and he will get another Superbowl. The media needs to leave him alone. The media gets desperate for a good sports story and they started the Favre retirement story a few years to early.

I think Favre should come back for another year. Superbowl is probably a little bit off yet, but the playoffs are not. Having the youngest team in the league last year, made the season start very rough. But the Defense is jelling nicely. LB's are looking tough, AJ Hawk is going to Haunt other QB's.

Yes, the receiving corp needs some work, but Jennings will be a great number 2. And I hope people keep thinking Driver is over-rated, that will only help this offense. They need to dump Bubba Franks and get a sure handed TE in there.

It sure was nice to have a top draft pick last year for the first time in 14 years. Hard for any team to stay on top that long without the top picks.

I believe the Packers can get there but they will have to get a couple of good drafts and maybe a couple of key free agency signings. I believe Brett will be back but the Packers had better solidified noticeable weaknesses at WR and TE. Getting another RB to help out Green would not be too bad as well. I think the Packers must draft a TE in the 1st rounD (FRANKS has had his better days and you need more production in the red zone from your TE or you will be getting FG over TD which is a recipe for doom.)I am a Packer for 40 years so I am not bad-mouthing them .The Packers still have to prove themselves and beat teams with winning records and support Brett better and then they can be a Super Bowl contender.

I hope that he will not retire and I doubt that he will. I think that with the team they have now that they will be going next year to the superbowl but only if they have Brett Favre as their quarterback. Should he really leave then I think that they are a long way away from the Superbowl. Go Packers!!!!!!!

You'd be perfect for any Wisconsin newspaper because you can write well, and you're delusional. Yes, the Packers finished the year strong...against the 49ers, Vikings, Lions, and an un-interested Bears (Rex put up more points for them than Brett Favre did). They'll finish in second place again next year, but only because someone in that division has to.

I thin Brett should take a season off and get his head back in gear to win another bowl for the packers!

B. Farve should not retire for the sake of the Packers future, because I beleive that Aaron Rogers aint ready yet. Packers need Farve to play a little and Rogers as well next year so that he can learn and that is how they will win their next super bowl with rogers as mvp in a couple years

The Packers need to let Favre go and let Aaron Rodgers play, the longer Favre plays the farther they are from the Super Bowl
Even Joe Montana lost his job eventually to his backup
