The old cold canvas! Just go to any company and knock on the door or call the human resources Dept. and ask if they are hiring. Sometimes you beat the crowd before the job is even advertised. Try to get a typed letter of recommendation from your old job from a co-worker(not the person who fired you) Ask your coworker for a blank letter with the company's letterhead or make up your own letterhead. Write your own letter of recommendation and have the coworker sign it. When you go to look for a new job they are going to ask you where you worked last. If the previous employer says anything bad about you, you can usually sue them.
Check the want ads, online, even the very very old want ads because they might be hiring again for that old job. Have a resume even though your work history is minimal. Since it probably is minimal, stress your hobbies or education
Good luck

Believe it or not, you can make pretty decent money waiting tables at a nice restaurant full time. You also only have to claim 8% of your tips on your taxes(at least in Oklahoma). Money will probably be a little tight, but you should be able to pull in over 1500.00 a month. You could at least do it until you found something with a salary or more steady income.

My son always went to Temporary agency, I know it sounds like it's not the best, but it will get you by until you obtain something you want. Did you file for unemployment? Did they have a good excuse for firing you?
