Has she done the first charge yet? As soon as you get the phone you are supposed to hook it up and let it charge for at least 8 hours before using it(even if its pre-charged). After that, the first time you should let the battery completely run down before charging it again. After that you should just wait until it gets down to one bar, or starts beeping letting you know that its time for a charge. If you are charging the phone at home, using the wall charger, it does not matter how long you leave it charging. It will not hurt the battery. The wall charger will not keep charging after the phones battery is full. If you charge it in the car, do not do it very often. Do not let your phone stay on the car charger if it is full because it will diminish the life of the battery.

I just charge mine every night, unless its brand new, which i charge every other night. Dont charge it all day or it will reduce your battery
