why do people think just because they have one drop of black blood that makes them black? i dont underestand this...like remember the tiger woods incident? they called him african american and defendent himself by saying that no he is also half Vietnamese and people called him a racist or a sellout! i dont understand that? like i'm half white and half black but i consider myself a mulatto but the blacks say i'm a sellout for not accepting my blackness and the whites say i'm not white, which si true. it's not that i dont accept my black side it's that there is more ot me then my black side there is also my white side. if both of my parents were black then i would be blacl but since one is white how can i be black? why do people think if u hae a black parent that makes u black? and when u present urself as mixed why the hell is that called a sellout?? thank u!

I dont think you are a sell out , you are who God has made you, and I think that malitto is a race all its own, its like indains for years they were pigs and half breeds , this and that, and now cause a person has an 8th of navajo in them they think they are indain. you are unique, black and white two cultures how beauitiful! I know that this doesnt exactly answer your question, but I couldnt help myself.

If you look black, you're black. Just ask Barack Obama.
White people actually created that rule and black people adopted it. Me personally, I think all non-white people are black. (yes, I see things in black and white, if you are not one then you are the other).
But I tink they call you a sellout because, back in the day you would have got treated just like all the other neggars. despite the fact that you are half white. So now that things are a little better those of who can pass, pass, and never look back.
Tiger woods is mixed with Thai by the way, I date this Thai chick once and she looked black. I think Tiger was called a sell-out cause he married a white chick.

I read this and I feel sorry for you.
I hope you find out how to define yourself in other terms beside black and white. If you dont want to claim either side, it shouldnt matter, but you are subject to an evolved yet ignorant society. So you have a lot more to deal with as time passes..
Good Luck

Native Americans go by blood quantum, so if your so much, like a quarter, your considered a native, I heard the same about African Americans, I heard there is no such thing as mulatto. we are all on a journey to find ourselves, and you should be who you are in your heart, black or white, what matters is your heart. PEACE

It's kinda like this; when you're mixed (say, white and black) the whites tend to see you as black and the blacks tend to see you as white. In the eyes of society, it's never a win situation.
Oh, and honey? Spell check.

Don't worry about what other people label you as. You are what you call yourself. You define yourself....others don't define who and what you are.
